In the 'old' days, 'gay' was used to denote a state of mind such as 'happy', 'joyful', etc. but somehow, it has morphed into something entirely different. Now, it's just another word for 'homosexual' - a person who is sexually attracted to people of their own sex. Sure does take on a different meaning when you say it that way, don't you think? In reality, 'gay' hides the true identity of the person so identified because how can they really be happy - let's say - when they are so upset with people who can't accept their 'gayness'?
For instance, how can they be 'gay' when they are constantly running into people like a baker who won't bake a cake for their "wedding" having relied on their Christian belief that marriage is between one man/one woman? Case in point - Sweet Cakes by Melissa - a business operated by a husband/wife team in Gresham, Oregon who refused to bake a cake for a 'lesbian' (homosexual) couple. Their business became the object of relentless attacks by homosexual activists, threatening messages against them and their children until finally they were forced to close their doors. Last known, they are doing business from their home. Is this what makes homosexuals so 'gay'?

How about the Washington state florist, Barronelle Stutzman who refused to provide flowers for a gay (homosexual) couple one of whom had been her customer for years. When he decided to 'tie the knot' with his friend and asked her to do the flower arrangements for the occasion, she told him she couldn't do that because of her relationship with Jesus Christ and her belief in natural marriage. She has been sued by the Attorney General of her state seeking fines against the business based on the state's non-discrimination laws and the ACLU, representing the homosexual men who are seeking damages. She could stand to lose everything she owns - her home, business and any savings she may have. Does this cause the homosexual great "joy" - forcing someone with strong religious convictions to violate that belief and possibly wind up bankrupt?
Then, more recently, there is that pizza parlor innocent at Memories Pizza embroiled in a debacle in Indiana where some reporter simply HAD to find a 'bigot' and pounced on this daughter of the owner with an insane question of whether they would cater pizza at a same sex (homosexual) 'wedding'. Really reaching there wouldn't you say? Her answer was simply they wouldn't refuse to serve anyone but as devout Christians they would not cater such an event because their religious belief is that marriage is between one man/one woman. No sooner said than reported. Well, they were besieged with threats, fake orders, etc. and ultimately forced to close their business. What happened next personifies the almost forgotten American spirit - a fund was set up on their behalf to which thousands of Americans contributed ultimately reaching the unheard amount of some $840,000. A backlash, totally unexpected by the homosexual activists - do you think this was full of 'joy' for them? That business has now re-opened.
These are only three of scores of this type of incident happening all over the United States as homosexual radicals seek out and intimidate, threaten and bully Christians who simply want to be left alone to their religious belief and not be forced to participate in something that violates that belief. It isn't bigotry, hate or intolerance Christians are displaying, merely the right to be left alone to practice their First Amendment rights of freedom of religion and speech.
I think it's way past time we should be using the correct terminology for these individuals and that would be 'homosexual', which is more definitive than 'gay'.
More to come.
these findings and reports are staggering,Grace. It is scarey and unsettling. What can one do to fight these autracities?
ReplyDeletePray and stop accepting anything less than what is right in the eyes of the Lord. Christians must unite in order to overcome this and not hesitate to speak out against every attempt to destroy moral order in this America. The pen IS mighty!
