Gay Rights Platform, Justice Scalia and The Preacher

On March 5th the following post was published as a Letter to the Editor.  I had requested a particular title in keeping with my objective (What Are We Doing to Our Children) however, the editor saw it differently and instead titled it:  Gays a Danger to Society.  So, I guess you know what kind of reception THAT got!  No matter, here it is:

The 1972 Gay Rights Platform in the United States, adopted by the National Coalition of Gay Organizations was filed with the FBI outlining both federal and state objectives and can be found to this day at: http://www.rslevinson.com/gaylesissues/features/collect/onetime/bl_platform.  Among the demands were: “#6. Federal encouragement and support for sex education courses, prepared and taught by gay women and men, presenting homosexuality as a valid, healthy preference and lifestyle as a viable alternative to heterosexuality”.  This was also a State demand.

In 2003, in the sodomy case of Lawrence v Texas, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of the Petitioners (Lawrence and Garner) voiding laws in any state making sodomy a criminal offense.  In his dissenting opinion, Justice Scalia noted: “…..The people may feel that their disapprobation of homosexual conduct is strong enough to disallow homosexual marriage, but not strong enough to criminalize private homosexual acts-and may legislate accordingly.  The Court today pretends that it possesses a similar freedom of action, so that we need not fear judicial imposition of homosexual marriage, as has recently occurred in Canada…..the Court says that the present case “does not involve whether the government must give formal recognition to any relationship that homosexual persons seek to enter”.  Do not believe it.”  Prophetic words by Justice Scalia?
What are some reasons ‘same sex marriage’ is wrong?  It isn’t a ‘marriage’; it violates natural law; it denies a child of either a father or mother; it doesn’t create a family but a naturally sterile union; it imposes its acceptance on all society and it offends God.  You know what else offends God that should offend all of us - very young, transgendered children!

On March 26th and 27th, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on California Proposition 8, the  constitutional amendment passed by its citizens banning gay marriage,  and DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) a law signed By President Clinton defining marriage as 'between one man and one woman'.  While proponents of gay marriage would have you believe theirs is a ‘civil right’, Rev. Bill Owens, founder and president of Coalition of African-American Pastors, whose organization will join in this march, said, "Gay activists are wrong to claim the mantle of the civil rights movement in their push to redefine marriage for all - the most important civil right related to marriage is the right of every child to a mother and father."  If you care about children, join this march.

"It were better for him that a millstone were
hanged about his neck, and he cast into the
sea, than that he should offend one of these
little ones."    Luke 17:2
